Bhubaneswar is a city of
temples and tanks. The
vaulting spires of temples
dominates the city’s
skyline. At one time more
than seven thousand temples
of various sizes stood
around the Bindusagar tank.
Today about five hundred of
them still survive. To have
a glimpse of the heritage
sites and to feel the pulse
of our illustrious ancestors
who gave us these stupendous
monuments that have
withstood the ravages of
time, the walk to the
Heritage Corridors has been
organized on 7th & 8th and
14th & 15th Jan’ 06. The
walk will cover the sites
like Mukteswar, Kedargouri,
Parshurameswar,
Kotitirtheswar, Anantvasudev,
Gangeswar, Jamuneswar and
Lingaraj. Important and
religious water bodies such
as Kedargouri kund,
Kotitirtheswar kund,
Gangeswar - Jamuneswar kund
and Devi-padahara Kund are
also included in the trail.
